Our society's recent issues had seen many postgraduates facing the problem of unemployment. Criticisms from newspapers on post-graduates being "too pampered", calling for high salaries and unwilling to get their hands dirty were often seen. Questions like: "Freshman, do you think you are qualified?" are often raised, and Mr. Tan has realized and acknowledged the urgency of these issues. To address matters he hopes to utilize his past experiences in universities and the long tenure of working life to provide advices and coach the students nowadays in becoming all-rounders. He hopes to present to the students on the ways to "self equip" during university times and become an outstanding talent of the new era.

Hence Mr. Tan pioneered the Great Ideas "Universities Contribution Department" coupling with professional societies, business organizations, youth clubs, training bodies, and speakers' associations to provide a wider coverage in training programs for participants to prepare them for the challenging markets nowadays.
